Best Tacos in Wilmington
Happy May! It’s almost time for Cinco De Mayo, and if you’re like me, you are going to have some delicious tacos to help celebrate! Here’s a list of five of the best tacos in Wilmington, NC!
Ceviches Tacos
The first restaurant on my list is Ceviche’s! This is my go to spot for lunch if I am craving tacos. It is located near Wrightsville Beach and has a variety of dishes that are inspired by Panamanian ingredients such as ceviche, tropical fruit, plantains, and more!
Ceviche’s offers taco specials (Carne, Shrimp, and Mahi) for $4, $5, and $6 respectively. These are available for lunch between 11am-3pm on Tuesdays through Fridays.
If you are feeling a little more adventurous, be sure to order the blackened corvina tacos with pickled cabbage, jalapeño aioli, and avocado! All of these items are served with coconut rice which, by itself, is quite delicious.
Tequila Comida & Cantina
The second restaurant on my list is Tequila Comida & Cantina. It sits right across from Home Depot in Monkey Junction towards Carolina Beach. Whenever I am craving excellent Mexican food, this is the restaurant that is always at the top of my list.
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Tacos de Camarón dish you see above! It came prepared with sauteed shrimp, onion, cilantro, cabbage, salsa de arbol and ensenada sauce. Incredible flavor!
Some of their other taco options include swordfish, mahi-mahi, chicken, pork, and skirt steak. You really can’t go wrong with any of these choices.
In addition to their tacos, be sure to try out their margarita selection! My personal favorite is the Tequila Margarita.
Their Cinco de Mayo specials include $5.99 margaritas and $3.99 tequila shots. Go check them out and enjoy!!!
k38 Baja Grill
k38 Baja Grill is next on the list and is definitely a fan favorite with many of the Wilmington residents. There are currently two locations – one off of Oleander Dr. and the other in Porters Neck .
This is the Mexican restaurant I would most likely choose if I wanted to meet up with a group of friends for dinner.
Taco specials here can be found on Mondays and Wednesdays!
On Mondays there are $3 Wannabe Margaritas and baja fish tacos.
On Wednesdays is $2 hard shell tacos which can be either pulled chicken, ground beef, or black bean.
When it comes to the normal taco options on the menu, make sure you try out the San Felipe and the Citrus Shrimp tacos! The food here is delicious and you will not be disappointed.
Block Taco
The fourth spot on my list is Block Taco! Here you will find my favorite tacos in all of Wilmington! It has the most unique setup of the taco shops as it is a walk up window connected to an incredible bar and lounge called Satellite in Downtown Wilmington.
These tacos are not only delicious, but they are also reasonably priced. The selection ranges between $3.75 and $4.75 depending on what type you order. If you order three or more, they will kindly throw in some free chips and salsa!
The two tacos you must try if you visit are the Carnitas Taco and the Brussel Sprouts Taco.
The Carnitas Taco consists of pork shoulder, fresh pico de gallo, and it is rubbed in brown sugar, coffee, and cinammon… Yes please…
The Brussel Sprouts is made with crispy sprouts seasoned with smoked spices, topped with pecans and pepita salsa.
Savorez
The final spot to wrap up the taco shops list is Savorez. Savorez is one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Wilmington! The quality and care they put into the food they make is next level. If you’re looking for some fancier tacos to make those taste buds happy, I would recommend heading that way.
They have some stellar taco options like the Gato’s Taco, Churrasco, and the Claliente Tuna Tacos. Just like the rest of these place on the list, you really can’t go wrong.
These are just a some of the many places you can go enjoy some delicious tacos around Wilmington. Some additional spots to check out are Tower 7, KBueno, and Cruz!
Hopefully this will help you make a decision on where to grab some delicious tacos! Have a fun and safe Cinco de Mayo!
