The restaurant offers a dining experience that blends traditional Southern flavors with contemporary culinary artistry. After driving by the building multiple times and hearing all the buzz about it, my wife and I decided it would be the perfect setting for her birthday dinner.
The Setting
Covey is arguably one of the most beautiful restaurants in Wilmington. You would be hard pressed to find another space that would rival the ambiance they offer. The contemporary and cozy design features many nooks, which gives guests a unique experience with every visit. The private dining areas makes it an ideal setting for not only intimate or group dinners but also potentially for small business meetings. From the tile work, wood work, floor to ceiling glass, and fixture choices, the decor is extremely impressive.
The Covey Restaurant Culinary Delights
Covey Restaurant offers bar service, Sunday brunch, and dinner service. My wife and I went for dinner. Unfortunately, we have not yet tried their brunch, but, I hear great things and am excited to give it a try! To start our meal, we ordered the Potato Pave and Tuna Tartare. Both delicious. For our mains, I had a NY Strip Steak and my wife ordered The Catch of the Day which was the winner of our favorite entree. Her grouper was accompanied by roasted root, Asian greens, brown butter and crispy greens. For dessert we had the Brulee Peach Mousse which was a great way to end an amazing meal.

1) Fried Chicken – with smoked red onion, green beans, collards, Asian pear mustard
2) NC Shrimp & Grits – with local mushrooms, Nueske’s bacon, grilled peppers, tomato broth
3) Crab Taglietelle – with North Carolina crab, sunchoke cream, egg yolk, rosemary
4) Covey Smash Burger – with house brioche, cheddar, bread and butter pickles, red onion, french fries
5) Roasted Duck – with country fried apples, charred greens, burnt maple bordelaise

The service was wonderful during our meal as we felt like our waitress was very professional, accommodating, and easy to talk to.
